Hi Keith , thanks for the information , did wonder what the writing was on the lugs , I guess the frame has no value so it wouldn’t harm it getting it repainted in the red it was in ? Think maybe taking the rack off and putting drops on ? Will post some more pics

It’s appears to have been painted logo on the head tube which is badly faded , but the frame and forks are certainly very detailed .

Can’t make out what the headbadge says ? Can get a better pic of detail what it says

As for painting, very few frames are worth doing - more often it’s a labour of love and part of the payback is saving something that otherwise would be lost to time, restore this and stave off the rot and it could well out live you as it most likely has its original owner

The detailed lugs suggest it was more up market than a mass produced effort

The head tube just says LH SPECIAL , same as the down tube , could get it shot blasted and powder coated but that maybe to harsh a process , what the best procedure to just cleaning it up and keeping it as a survivor ?

Looks like it’s just one of cyclings mystery’s !

Not sure the wheels will be original , and cranks certainly look more modern.

Gear change on the stem works perfect !
