Kona - custom paint job

X-Lite riser bars, do you have any other X-Llite stuff?
Also interesting to know what you did to it.

I've only really got whats on the bike! Not collecting... yet!

So I had the frame sandblasted and powder coated; then I bought a lacquer rattle-can and some Hammerite - I tried thinned model paint, and a few variations to get the right consistency, but actually found that Hammerite is pretty much perfect for the job straight from the tin. I lay the frame and forks down (masked over bolt holes etc) and did my best Jackson Pollock impression. Mostly used a brush, but also a teaspoon worked well. Need to be quick and go with it. There's a small window for corrections, using thinners to clean off big blobs. Then let it dry, flip it over and do the other side, let it dry, few layers of lacquer. More drying, take a razor blade to any high blobs; add decals, and finish with more lacquer.

Will try to get some better photos up next week.

Thank all - your feedback means a lot to me!

Very groovy indeed. Thanks for the info :) I think I'll have a go on a scrap frame ( my mate's twisted Dawes hybrid will do nicely )
