Kona A'ha 1997

Re: Knowing me knowing you - (Kona) A'ha! (1997) - finished

Very nice mate, like your attention to detail and the way you've carried the colour scheme through without going OTT. I should've gone with those bars on my Humu rather than forcing some Mary's through the stem!

Good work, they ride like a dream. Especially on single track. Spring needs to get a move on.

Cheers peeps!

Raiden - I really like the feel of the Fleegle bar, wide it may be but perhaps it's the P2s but it didn´t feel like it was turning a barge.

So so but I`ll get back to you after a proper ride. The were a right bitch to set up though, fiddly buggers.

Shameless plug-bump; she's in the BOTM competition! Please help her not come last

She's proper fun to ride. It's been 100% urban so far but will hit some gentle off-road stuff in July with my old man.

Re: Knowing me knowing you - (Kona) A'ha! (1997) - finished

So slight update.

As you can sort of see, the clearance between the chain and the frame was close. After some shake-downs around the block, too close. The chain was ever so slightly rubbing the frame. So, thanks to the LBS, we removed one spacer on the hub and had to use a normal (modern) 7/8 speed chain.

Thankfully the chain tracking isn't off enough to worry about and we have clearance, even after some hard pedalling. This time next month it'll be going on it's proper maiden voyage...can't wait!

Re: Knowing me knowing you - (Kona) A'ha! (1997) - finished

Apologies if this has already been covered in the thread but I thought these used a specific rear up in the original spec - may explain the clearance issue?

Looks fantastic all the same though :)
