Kirk Revolution front derailleur hanger‏

Hi,

I'm in the process of renovating a Kirk Precision mountain Bike. At present it has a piece of bent Aluminium to attach the front derailleur, obviously this is far from ideal and doesn't really work.

I've managed to find one on a website which I believe is correct and attached a picture?

Does anyone know of anywhere in the UK that has them.

Any assistance/ help would be appreciated

Many thanks

Re:

They are generally as rare as unicorn poo.
You're highly unlikely to find one for sale on its own, they only ever seem to come on frames.
I got a spare one when I bought my Kirk, but then sold it along with the bike

Put an Ad in the "Wanted" forum on here, if anyone has a spare then chances are it'll be a Retrobike member.
Failing that, it may be possible to have one machined?

Err.... Have you got the direct mount mechanism for it as well? Usually a Shimano LX model..

Re:

There used to be someone that sold them in their website.
It's a Website with lots of details on Kirks but can't remember the name!

Could a piece of aluminium angle be used, is the metal missing at the corner significant?

Ask danson67, he has an early one and may be able to sort out measurements

Re:

I notice the thread title says "Kirk Precision"; which was the road bike version of the Kirk frame, is this what you have? Or do you have the MTB version, the "Revolution"?

Alternatively, something like this sort of mount would also work. (excuse the photo as it's not a Kirk but has same fitting)

I have both sorts of derailleurs to fit

cheers
