Just finished painting my £5 Orange Clockwork

The paint I used was as follows

1. Grey highbuild primmer
2. white gloss (as a base coat for the fluorescent as it will bleed dark patches if
do not use white ) and later the fadeout
3. 3 cans of Halfords Fluorescent Orange aerosol
4. 1 large can of aerosol lacquer
All the paint I used came from an automotive paint suppliers except for the Halfords Fluorescent.

Tip 1. For aerosol fadeout practice on a spare frame if you have one

I painted the fadeout with the white aerosol which is not for the faint hearted you only get one shot or you have to do it again, another little tip is to mask up the frame when doing the fadeout and only have the tube you are painting showing so then you do not get over spray on the rest of the frame ,also make sure the paint is totally dry before you mask it for the other tube.
Sorry if this is teaching you to suck eggs but it just might help some people

I did buy a airbrush to do the fadeout but never managed to get it working properly until I went to clean it out and found that the needle had not been screwed in properly. I would use an air brush for the next fadeout I do.

Re:

Looking good mate. I’m in the process of doing mine too. I’ve colour coded my Flex Stem to go with the Orange. Ive not put the decals on yet, paranoid I make a mess of them. Lolol
