Is this a Specialized Stumpjumper, or not?

Thanks for the further information, much appreciated :D

I’m no mountain biker and a bike like this would be wasted on me, so I’m thinking that probably far better off for it to be with someone who’ll appreciate it. So I had to laugh at the ‘coming to an E-Bay near you’ comment as that is what I’m thinking/convincing my girlfriend to do with it.

Would it be rude to ask if anyone here knows what it would have been worth new? I guess if I wanted to know what it is worth now I would have to ask in the other thread??

If you do decide to sell it , wouldn't it only be polite to try it on here first (after all you've just joined and found out all the info about it from us ) before throwing it out to fleabay , or at least put the link up .

Think there is a lot of interest on here. I would have been interested if it was my size! Fortunately I allready have a 1992 S-Works M2.

Could you tell me the frame number of this one? It's on the inside of the rear drop out (left side).

Cheers,
Bart

By the way! It is a 1992 S-Works M2 Team They did use the name S-Works allready. Here are some bad scans from the 1992 S-Works catalog!

Yes, I would absolutely let you all know on here if I/when I decided to sell, as you have all been so helpful in identifying it for me :)

£2299 was a lot of money back in '92 (and still is!)

I will have look at the frame number tonight and post it up. Do I measure the frame size from the center of the crank to the top of the frame where the seat locates?

Thanks again for all you help.

Just checked the frame number - 92T2735-6 with a J under the last digit. Also measured the frame and it's 18".

right......1991......aluminium/aluminium oxide hybrid, details of which were controlled by the munitions control act, and not used for anything other than the american missiles that were pointed at the ussr at the time......10% stronger and 20% lighter than aluminium......produced by specialised and a san diego company called duralcan*......nice niche bike, top of the tree at the time and collectable to us geeks here!!..... :D

*all nicked from a book on my shelf.....

first option, build it, ride it and enjoy it!.......thats what most of us would do......second option is to pass it on into our community, where one of us will refer to option one......i would love to own it!... :D
