hello all
i live in cambodia, south east asia and i've just purchased this mtb for 60 quid. however, i can't identify the make and model of the frame... can you help?
its an aluminium frame, the year is 1996, the serial number is J96011309 and it has the following spec;
- shimano deore xt mech (front / rear)
- shimano deore lx slr plus brake levers / thumb-shifters (front / rear)
- shimano deore lx parallax hubs (front / rear)
- araya tm 840f rims (front / rear)
- suntour xc pro cantilever brakes (front / rear)
- sugino mighty 900 cranks / chainrings
- tranz x zanzibar handlebar / stem / seatpost / seat clamp
- dia-compe aheadset
- rock shox judy xc forks (1996)
the cables are all routed along the top of the top tube and the front mech is top-pull. there's a sticker on the down tube (near the head tube) that says "Bicycle Dealers of Tokyo - http://www.panqu.com" the website no longer exists but when you google it the result is http://www.jitensyakumiai.com/index.html
i've owned quite a few bikes over the years (bmxs, road bikes and mtbs) and for a bike that's nearly 20 years old it rides like a dream and is incredibly lightweight... once i have stripped, cleaned, serviced the bike and then upgraded some of the components it will be just perfect for my needs (and a bargain at only 60 quid)...
i have more pictures if needed but any help identifying this bike would be greatly appreciated...
