Help identifying Raleigh frame.

1983..........isnt it a Rapide then?

1983 brochure depicts:

Team Replica 12 (shot in rear stays, so it's not that)
Gran Sport 12 (chromed forks...)
Road Ace 12 (Shimano AX equipped with Aero gear levers, so it's not that)
Competition 12 (looks to be the best bet)

Would the Rapide 12 have had a W frame prefix? (thinking it was probably an N)



But it could, of course, be a 1984 model with a 1983 frame...

Just had another look, hadn't realised that the Rapide was 531, so I guess it could be one of those...

They had Haden Olympic lugs, which suggest that it is

What makes it a Rapide by being an 83? do they have the Prugnat S4 lugs?

No, they have Haden Olympic Lugs, the models above it had Prugnat S4 lugs

If you click on the link to another Rapide on this site, you will see that the lugs look just like yours!
