Completely agree there - I accidentally went 10-speed while building my FSR up - bought what I thought was a 9-speed cassette, turned out to be a 10-speed, the other bits followed on from that :)
 
Just an update... I've just been on a crazy ride with a mate who lives in Burnley. I have never done so much climbing in my life - 740ft of climbing in 15 miles. I am pleased to report 11-32 x 38 was perfect. 32 x 38 is fine for those horrible climbs where your leaning forward to stop the front wheel hopping. 38 x 11 still spins out on proper downhills but it does the job :).
