Fitting rear mudguard query

Hi all,

I am fitting a rear mudguard to my 97 Rockhopper, the rear brake bridge hasn't got the usual horizontal hole.

Any 'hacks' or brackets that can be used before I go Heath Robinson on it ? I could bend a bracket around the bridge but just wondered what you have done to solve it.

Thanks, I have a similar thing in my parts bin I was trying to fabricate but it's covered in a plastic and the plastic moves when its bent.

Those are ideal.
