Fitting a Ti Headset on a Ti Frame

I can also vouch that headsets are not a problem in Ti frames.
I have only just retired one such combination and it's been fine since 1990!!
Copper grease and correct tools are always essential though, just in case.

all i can say is copper slip and inspect all thing regular and you will never have problems as is written in the cytech bible all praise the cytech aarrrhhh arrrrrrhhhhhhhh hhuuuummmmmmm

I have a ti headset on my ti-frame. No problems whatsoever. Try and get as much copper-grease in as possible and make sure any excess is kept well clear of the bearings/seals of the headset.

I would add to insure that the frame is faced prior to using the anti-seize and installation.

One of the factors with seizing is the point pressure exerted in a specific or focused area. This is often the bugger with threaded parts and seatposts (as the side opposite the load, your butt, is pressured more intensely than the rear of the post).

If the frame is faced properly, then there will be even surface pressure the entire circumfrence of the cup, eliminating yet another probably seizing factor.

With proper preparation, the Ti headset will give a long term of service in the Ti frame.

cheers,

rody
