Finishing tape for drop bars?

I've replaced my bars on my gravel bike to Terry carbon use ones, reusing the bar tape (supercaz) as it's almost new, but the finishing tape is like elastic and can't really be reused as tears easily and list it's stickiness.

Aside from insulating tape which is a bit naff right, what's a good product to neatly finish my tape off?

i use cotton bar tape to finish, better than supplied stuff usually

Some tessa fleece harness or automotive cloth tape will work too, maybe some heat shrink would work if you can get the diameter needed

Strange that the finishing tape that comes with the bar tape is always a bit pants and other options are used instead.

I was hoping for something cool to be suggested, in my experience insulating tape eventually just becomes a sticky mess and the tape moves, haven't used gaffer or gorilla tape, don't think it looks good and the top of the bars are on show so might as well try and make it look nice.

it's what I've used forever, it's what the professional cyclists use too. I've never had an issue with it going gooey (although I agree the stuff does do that). Maybe I just change it often enough to not worry about it.
