Fast /sports/ modified / weekend car thread

Some of the accidents I had it's a wonder I wasn't seriously injured, my si got wrote off after it decided to take me grass tracking through Thetford forest when it left the road at around 80, nope 70, honestly officer I was doing 55-60

Here’s a question … insured properly after the engine swap?

Back then nobody I knew told insurance about mods. Totally different world now obviously.

Running around in mint green caged up , 2.0 nova that was red 1.1 originally which was taxed and insured as a standard car. Silly times.

It was silly. Nowadays 220bhp isn’t a lot. But it used to spin up in 4th gear.

Throttle bodies used to sound like the devil was shouting.

Just found a few more pics of things I’ve built /owned many years ago

Renault Clio v6 is one of the cars I really want. I was debating building a replica with a bodykit, engine I found on eBay and a clio body. I added it all up and it would’ve cost a little over £10,000. Compared to some that are £45,000 that’s quite a good deal.

Yes officer all mods are declared and insured, well anything external that was obvious, like wheels exhaust etc

Adding a body kit to a regularly clio isn’t even close to a Clio V6. They were a totally different car underneath on a semi space frame with lots of one off bits. Built by hand actually too with Aston Martin input.

It actually used to be the ongoing joke that it was a clio with a body kit. F3848A91-559C-4BEE-95BB-ED2E8E273BA6.jpeg

They have gone pretty crazy on value recently.

Pity manufacturers don’t do silly cars like this now.

400 + BHP methanol injected Impreza.... Now a 1.3 Ford Ka

Local place to me runs some big power imprezas (scooby clinic )

Should have bought a 22B when they were affordable 😆 as that’s the only one I wanted. You were either Impreza or evo back then

I did factor in all the changes to the body and even found a car that had had half the work done. But in the end I just decided it wasn’t worth my time really.

But they were longer and wider than a normal clio with so many one off parts it would be impossible. I’ve seen many put the body kit on a 1.2 and it’s just so wrong.

similar to when people used to try to make a normal Escort into a cosworth they don’t end up looking right as they longer as they were actually a sierra underneath.

No way it could be built for £10k or even be close to looking correct even with triple that. Might as well by a cat C/D one for £25k now.

I saw a place building a 6R4 reproduction which is a similar car (both looked like the base model but were totally different) and they are about half a million I think to have one built.
