always set my absolute max, taking into account postage, at 2p more than I am prepared to pay.

Sometimes I win, most times I dont.

same with me...I just got outbid on some genuine factory records letter heads and stationary but ces't la vie...it went over my max budget.

I usually stuff my absolute max bid in then dont even look at it till I get the email at the end to stop myself bidding over my max. Somtimes it is just over my max but then again..if I had rebid it is likely they would of too

Your not gaining maximum advantage unless you put that maximum bid on in the last few seconds or use a snipe tool. those that you lost very close to your max bid you may have won.

My sniper failed me for the first time this evening :(

I'd loaded it for a nice set of handlebars and they sold for far less than I was prepared to pay

I also find putting in a random number of pence can help, lots of people put their Max bids in as whole pounds...

I like to bid my absolute maximum[including postage] on the last 5 or 6 seconds.
If you didnt win it ,you didnt want it enough
