Do 26" wheels make it retro?

Down hill, why not, but then if you can't be bothered to even pedal during a race, why not take the crank, chain, cassette, shifters etc off too and replace them with a carbon foot rest! Think of the weight saving.

Downhill without a chain :)

Even 650b is about to become "retro" and "defunct" very soon. The mainstream bike industry is basically abandoning that wheel size, so in the near future it'll just be 29ers that are available to buy, unless you want something niche or boutique.

Give it 5 years and then some marketing genius will fix the problem of slow steering and inertia by inventing smaller wheels.
