They’ve removed the bike as it has been sold!

Haha! What kind of response was that?
Some poor mug has bought a bike with what he thought was Record OR throughout - now that won’t sound like much to others but to us it’s a difference of hundreds of pounds in being mugged

Record is so rarefied, hopefully the poor buyer will take it well.

Re:

Im not convinced its sold, but to be fair to BLB, id like someone to give me a bit more info on Campagnolo of its time, im 30 years in and still cant get my head round it. So many parts shared across the groupsets, its as clear as mud to me. Icarus and Record OR share so much it seems.

I think a lot of the bits are crossovers between the two groups, but with a few extra details on Record. And things like the cranks are different.

Yes and the price - correct me if I’m
Wrong but surely the Record cost a lot more?

I think it did, not sure the actual numbers back in the day though.
Certainly nowadays Record OR commands a premium over icarus. If you can find it. the crossover prices dont necessarily cost much more but the individual bits unique to the group do and when you find a complete groupset the costs spiral.

Re:

Ah I see, I always thought the two compact cranksets were the same, along with the brakes etc, I did wonder about the finish
