Still not stripped it
It's clean now though, and while I was cleaning it I came across some pretty severe damage to the paint on the head tube and the seat post, you think its a write off?

And that's as bad as it gets. Nothing's stuck, nothing's worn, the bearings are all smooth, it's just hardly been used in 22 years.

Lycra covered gel saddle has a slight lump in it, but practically zero wear.

I've decided it's getting a new hg chain even tough it doesn't really need one, and all the bearings are getting fresh grease.

That lump in the saddle, its the foam or gell filling hardening, I've seen many like that over the years.

You don't really notice the imperfection in the saddle when youre sat on it. And yeah can only see it if you look hard. I'll probably fit something else for when I go out and get it dirty.

Started to give the frame a final clean and wax.
You reckon the rear wheel has been in and out much?

Mini update:
Various personal reasons have meant there has been no progress on this in the last two weeks, so today I tried to get back into it by finishing the frame cleanup and start the reassembly.
Stupidly I've missed many photo opportunities :facepalm: so no pics of the bb which although silky smooth, got cleaned and regreased.
The chainstay and bb area of the frame only have tiny marks to the paint.

I've all but given up trying to get my phone to capture the paint colour :roll: so the camera is coming out later and I'll update via the laptop.

Well done on finally capturing that paint finish!

Thanks! Still looks a little darker than it truly is, but at least you can see that purple flip, hopefully next bit of sunshine we get I'll try and snap the gold flip that only comes out in the sun
