Custom paint and cycle cleaning

Re: No Quarter Bikes

Over the last few weeks we've been mixing some custom colours inspired by 60s HotWheels. We've made some really cool colours but this is my personal favourite..

We started with a white primer to really bring the green out followed by a super metallic. Green, yellow, black, red and blue all went into mixing this colour. Just before lacquering we sprayed a very very light mist of black over the high points of the tubes where the light would hit if you were looking at it side on, this gives the frame a even glow, a small detail which you'd probably never notice but it does make a difference.

Re: No Quarter Bikes

They all look pretty good but that dave Moulten is a really nice combo.
I like that a lot. Might drop you a pm later about painting one of my frames that colour. Just a straight strip and one colour, no lugs or chrome so pretty simple.
Cheers

Happy New Year all!

For 2015 we're not going to be supplying vintage components or frames, just concentrating on the powder-coat and paintwork side.

We've got some stunning carbon frames in at the moment plus a few steel frames in for restoration.

Here's what we're upto...

Re: No Quarter Bikes

FWIW, Dave Moulton is registered on this forum and still has records of all the frame numbers etc.

Re: No Quarter Bikes

Carbon Boardman frame in for a re-lacquer. Original lacquer was chipping and marking very easily so we've replaced it with some super strength gloss, here's the frame during prep.

All masking done by hand, no printed stencils have been used. Frame + forks are going red/white/blue. We paint the white on first, mask it up then paint the red and blue after.

We've still got a lot of work to do, all decals on and some super gloss lacquer to go over. The blue is 2 part super metallic, it's going to look stunning!
