Cheap mystery fillet brazed from USA

Re:

Strange one this. It has many hallmarks of a late 80's Jamis Dakar frame, but I've never seen one with both a forward facing seatpost clamp, a mount for a hite-rite and a pump mount.
I guess I'll find out more when it arrives from the US :D

You got it?

I'm glad, Been tempted every time I open my laptop, top tube too long for me tho - hope to see pics of the build

Re:

I've been hunting for a proper fillet brazed Dakar for as long as I've been on this site, so I hope it is just that.
I'm not overly confident, but I do have a couple of good contacts at Jamis who I'll be sending detailed pics to when it arrives.
Fingers crossed :D

Great! If it's not a Jamis then it's something equally exotic, bears some similarities to both Salsa and Mountain Goat of that era , hopefully that serial number will help you get to the bottom of all this sleuthing, the guy selling it was talking about it on facebook vintage mountain bike page btw

Re:

Nice, I considered it but too many project and not enough money!
I found a couple of pictures of Jamis with the same top of seatstay area.
