might be useful for your Specialist Aluminium Engineer as a reference as these pictures also show how the frame was formed in the factory

crimping and knurling is standard on alloy frames for chain and chainring clearances
this factory forming and modern hydroforming actually in most cases makes the stays and tubes stronger

Though as I said you should not be engaging with the buyer, especially trying to out do him as it were. Absolutely nothing stopping him damaging the frame and sending it you back, you loose the money and frame then.

Yeh you are right and in 99.9% of cases we would ....... but this was a special case of disbelievement that had to be investigated ahaha

we wernt trying to out do him in anyway just hopefully educate him a little we honestly hope he keeps his frame builds it up and enjoys it
