I have bought and sold many things on this forum and others mostly without issue although recently I have had to pursue a couple of sellers who were dishonest in their descriptions of goods or because the goods didn't materialise. You can see my feedback thread on RB, I'm 100% an honest seller. On ebay my fb score is 524 and 100% positive. I value my good reputation.
I find myself now being pursued by a buyer that is claiming all sorts of problems with some wheels he bought from me over on PB.
The wheels and tyres are tubeless and exactly as I advertised them. I had to deflate the tyres to get the wheels and tyres into the wheel boxes I posted them in.
Posted on Thursday the buyer got them today and has sent me a list of complaints about them, this is his message to me
'Small problem. The wheels leek white fluid and wont pump up and the wheels are buckled. I would like my money back. Sorry for the inconvenience I just cant use broken wheels.'
So I replied 'You have good wheels mate. You need to inflate them with a compressor to get the tyres seated. Its a common thing on tubeless setups. The white fluid is the sealant. It will leak out as the tyres are deflated for the purpose of transporting them to you.'
Next reply from the buyer adds to the list of so called problems with the wheels 'they grind and that isnt supposed to happen' followed by 'They look buckled as hell and sounds awful'.
Now there was nothing wrong with the wheels when I boxed and posted them and I think the guys trying it on. I dont want to lose my good rep on any buy/sell forums and certainly dont want my Paypal account suspended or anything.
So what can I do to protect myself and my reputation. Because I know the wheels were sound when they left me I feel no inclination to refund him as I think hes simply changed his mind.
Thanks Nathan
