Can anyone date my old Lava Dome?

Hi,

I've just found this site, it looks really great.

I have had my Kona Lava dome for years but I can't remember exactly what year I bought it and I was wondering how old it actually is. I've had a browse online and I can't find the information anywhere.

If anyone knows what year it might be, or how I might find out I'd be very grateful.

1995 I'd say, but theres plenty of Kona experts on here

Those steel konas are held in very high regard and that looks nice and original

Thanks, the only parts that are not original are the handlebar grips and one tyre.

Looks like similar spec. and decals to my old Cindercone which was '94/'5, gripsh*t and yucky saddle didn't last long before going back to thumbies and a flite.

I have to say that I like that green colour with silver decals, it does looked good, hope you are keeping it.

The frames are identical, only the parts differed between the two models

looking at the spec on www.bikepedia.com/Quickbike/BikeSpecs.a ... &Type=bike I'd say it's 1994 and not '95 as I first thought. According to the site the '95 had STX groupo and gripshifts... The Sugino cranks and DX thumbies on yours are listed as equipment on the '94... and I'm a geek :roll:

Thanks guys, looks like its 1994, I haven't ridden it in about 5 years, I might take it out for a run tomorrow.
