Can anybody help me identify this frame please?

Hi All -

I recently acquired this bike from a friend. It has some lovely components on it!

Would anybody have any clues as to what the frame might be? I can't see any details which give me any clues.

What does the badge on the head tube say?

Areas that are often useful to help identify bikes from others are things like chain stay to BB junction, drop outs, cable guides and any gussets. If you can post up some pics of these things as it may help with identification. Serial number too as there are some experts (I was going to say nerds but that's unfair) in such things on here.

A few more photos. The badge is sadly a sticker as opposed to a badge, it says DC with a skull on it but I suspect this is unrelated to the frame. Hope these photos make things clearer.

As giant make a lot of other brands bike frames, I’m going to go early here and say it’s a giant xtc or similar from between 2001-2004.

Or of course there’s always the Retro chat trope of “is it a Zaskar?”

Edit - just seen the serial number on the bottom of the bottom bracket is "DC7331".

Correct! It does have that decal. The hanger has 3 bolts but is gold and without NSB on it that I can see.

Sorry for doubting/dismissing the poster who asked for the photo of the badge!

Looking at other Coves online, I'm still not finding an exact match, however!
