thank you for your feedback and complements, the colour choices, came from wanting to display the union flag somehow, 753 was a milestone tubeset for me, and typically has 753 skinny tubes, i didnt feel a flag plastered on the front would look right, and it would have also lost the original paint scheme used, it kinda made sense to use the colours of our nations flag, and still retain the original paint idea of the custom builder.

the paint finish was applied as the original paint was,.....and the process took a long long time.!!!!

I do love the way it has turned out, even though i had my doubts at points.

Not sure if it would get anywhere in bike of the month though, ?????????
the quality is there and the age is correct, but is it widely enough known..?

Reynolds 753at fillet brazed frameset.
Reynolds 753 matching fork.
option fork Tange "prestige" switchblade. nos black, chromed for build.

Handlebar stem... Tioga T bone, tange "prestige" chrome.
option stem....custom painted.

Handlebars... Tioga tange prestige, nos including original decals.
Handlebar grips. ODI attack in black.
Seatpost. Tioga polished silver.
option seatpost...Deore XT black.

Tyres...Panaracer Timbuk twos..kevlar.
Saddle...selle italia "turbo" black.
Headset...Shimano Dura-ace. 1" silver.

Groupset....Shimano DEORE XT...including thubshifters.
Chainrings.....Tioga.

Wheels.... Mavic MA40mb rims, laced to XT hubs, using D.T double butted stainless steel spokes.

Pedals....pictured are the ones bought new need for this weekends reunion ride, but to keep the bike correct as a period build, i do have XT flat and spds. and also, my choice in bottom bracket and brake blocks, simply reflect my need for low maintenance and to be able to stop as the bike will be in constant use.

i think it looks best with the forks that match the rest of the paint. good job from the pile of poop you had to start with thats for sure.
