Brake pad suggestions

They're interesting threads flimflam. I'm already on Shimano 600 aero levers. I did notice the flexing of the 610s and your extra bridge is a good idea.

However, if you're non-purist I can't recommend highly enough the Tektro option.

Well the extra bridge on the Weinmann's is hardly a purist move :) and given the faff it would take (especially to find just the right length pivot bolts) I agree that upgrading to the Tektros is probably a pretty cost effective alternative. Given how grippy my brakes are I'm guess I'm just surprised that many people complain about them so much and feel the need to upgrade. They do flex a bit, but I don't mind that progressive feeling. If you want something that's a bit more on/off then something more modern is the way forward.

I have put in about 50 miles since the bike was refurbed, and the brakes seem to have got better by quite a long margin, probably the blocks were a little 'crusty', also they make you extra vigilant of the dangers of other road users.

So brake upgrade on hold for now :D
