Based on some hokey info I found online, my '93 Bonty Race seatpost size should be 26.8mm:

But the seatpost I'm using is insanely tight. My new post is already scratched up from a rough insertion. And yes, I lubed it up plenty.
I got some digital calipers today and while the seatpost is almost exactly 26.8mm, the seattube is measuring about 26.4mm.
The tube is very clean, too; no rust or any other crud in there.
Are some of these older bonty's smaller than 26.8mm?
If I look for a smaller post, should I get one that is 26.4 or slightly smaller, like 26.2?
