Of course, if you want something truly retro:

I'm still rocking a Cateye Halogen

I am however considering modding it a bit by replacing the halogen bulb with a LED one (if there is a LED bulb or adapter one that fits in the original socket).
These old halogen bulbs go through alkaline C-type batteries like it's nobody's business and it's even worse with the rechargeable ones. Not a lot of light either.

yeah I had one of those for a number of years.

The best of the older (though not retro) lights I had was a set of Specialised Fireballs. Although the battery was the size of a water bottle, and about the weight of my bike.

From the end of the 90s I think.

I have a pair of those, and would LOVE to know if there's a LED bulb replacement that would fit so I could rock these on my bikes for nostalgia sake!
