I love using retro gear.My favourite tench rods are a pair of Richard Walker glass rods with an Aerial centrepin on one and a late 40s Mitchell on the other.

Its a half bail Mitchell.It pre dates the 300.I love my Mitchells but my favourite older reels are the Swedish built 70s Cardinals.We will never see the like again in terms of sheer quality.Do you use Mitchells?

I used my dad's mitchell 300 when I was younger....on a split-cane rod! I lusted after an ABU 501 or 506 ...but had to make do with a shakespeare closed face instead :-(
