And today I did......

Re:

Today I learned that some things you have learnt can take some time to unlearn.
Specifically freewheeling, which I've been doing on bikes for 30years or so.
I don't recommend anyone try it on a fixed gear bike though, or like me you'll find yourself sliding along the pavement wondering what just happened

Fortunately my gloves and jacket sacrificed themselves to save my skin, so a good excuse for some "retail therapy"

Re:

Fixie riding is like walking or running which you have been doing far longer than free wheeling. If walking or running and you suddenly stop without slowing down first you tend to fall over. However once you master fixies on road then try off road, biggest laugh and stupidest thing you will ever do. Raced mine in Single speed champs in Belgium xc course in Ardennes, what a hoot !

Out on a recce ride for this years Clubbytrails. Yes indeed, I’ve ridden past a number of these paths hundreds of time without realising it.
Only problem is Angus council’s definition of a “path” seems to be as wide as Epicyclo’s definition of “road”. Actually some of them Epicyclo would probably criticise for being too smooth.
