Hi guys. I got myself a ritchey steel fork. For its age, there are some blemishes n paint work not so good now. But the original decals r perfect.

I thought of give it a new coat. But still want to keep original decals.

Powder coated or paint?

You can't powder coat small areas and blend the surface in. You could rub down all blemishes, mask off the stickers with a buffer zone around them. Paint the fork then buff the paint around the join of old and new paint taking care not to buff the stickers away, but it's a lot of faff. If the fork is black you might get away with it but good luck matching any colours. If you're paying someone to do this it will be more expensive than a full repaint with new stickers.

Both will need the decals off......painting round them is a bit pointless as prep will be compromised.
