Prob around 10,000 Merlin Tis made for every one of these beauties. These were ONLY made by FCC welders not Serotta, despite being in the same NY premises and all overseen by Chris himself. Pretty much the most expensive Ti frames of the era along with Potts. Absolutely love my 97 Ti, softer ride than my 94 wishbone which is a pure performance design but still all day riding comfortable. Insane cheap price, should be at least double this. 😎

You are absolutely bang on with your description. Chris Chance rode one of these not too long ago for a FAT gathering. The external machined tubes are a complete work of art!

Owned or ridden most of the Ti frames from the early to mid 90s and these are in a completely different league for handling and stability climbing and descending. A Hei Hei is like a wet noodle by comparison beautiful though they are. XLMs get dented if a fly lands on them the tubing is so wafer thin. FAT were the first to butt Ti tubing on a lathe, hence the higher cost of these. Even 30 yrs later the Ti tubing is no better although butted Ti tubing is readily available now. My daughter loves her 94 Ti which always gets good vibes from other riders. Exquisite external butting and flawless welds on my 94 Ti below. I could NEVER part with this and the ride is just sublime. 32622D9B-945D-4BCC-BB55-9CD6EAD89E3A.jpeg
