Could be cool with some bright yellow rockshox quadra's with yellow maguras maybe.

You'll need a few spokes first

Didn't realise they skimped on the ub HG-20 ? That's Exage 200CX (or 200GS)

anyways, 14G (standard plain gauge) spokes, try 262 or 264 length (it's about 263 according to calcs.)

I have one of these that started out as a frame from a car boot for a fiver. I had some yellow RST forks on it but IMO they didn't go at all. It now has some black Rockshox Judy TTs and looks much better. Don't know if they're period correct but neither is the rest of the bike so not a problem.
On the colour issue, some kids along the canal said it was a girls bike . I don't care 'cos I love it.

Yeah my mrs says i'm in touch with my feminine side with this one. I love it though.

Ben thanks for that. Agree the hubs do let it down a little but even low end shimano hubs are pretty reasonable

Re: sus forks

If you go sus. forks, you may be want to drop the rise of your stem as the front will be raised for general riding.
Though you'll be able to drop a little as you're not using the canti hanger.

195 to 200mm steerer ?
