86 Mountain Goat Whiskeytown Racer

Although, as with Raidan, I do think a period Turbo would seal the deal completely for me!

Just for photos.

Then bang the comfy Velo Jet back on, and none of us will ever know!

Your right, but unfortunately I don't have a Turbo in my kit & don't tell anyone but I don't actually like them much 🤫, I did look at a mint one on eBay just to make it period correct but couldn't bring myself to part with the cash! Anyhow the Jets only 6 years out and surly the age gap doesn't matter in this modern world! 😉

Lovely bike. I'd have had it myself if it were a little smaller. I know it's hard to find period correct parts for really early ones but I'd like to see a Turbo or something on there in place of the Velo Jet. Can't argue if it suits your bum though ;)
I will vote for this bike when i see a pic of it covered in dust and trail mud. Best bike is the one that´s ridden hard.

The specialised parts were an option fitted by Mountain Goat from new & I was going to swap them out for something more fancy but decided originality is best for this build.
Hope you like it. I do
So I've only gone & done it, I've just thrown this into my first BOTM competition! Genuinely don't expect a win but it's fun & another step in getting more involved with the forum....... Actually sod that VOTE FOR ME TEAM GOAT ALL THE WAY!
I will vote for it when you post a pic of the bike covered in dust and mud from actual mountain bike riding. The best bike is the one you ride hard.

Ha ha, I was out on it last night, only locally and I can tell you there isn't much mud about at the moment! It will be ridden, the only bike I won't be riding on its current tyres is my Zask as it's got NOS Butterscotch Maxxis and it's not finished yet anyhow but I have a second set of wheels with new Smokes for proper riding. But hey if I get chance I'll oblige you with mud n dust 👍

Out on the trail with my lad, and yes I did get wet feet! Bike handles great 😁

Always fun, the day it's not I'll sell my bike's! The water was a little deeper than expected on the far side but it gave my boy a laugh, he used the bridge which is just to the left of this point.
