80s sr axles

Hi folks. I recently suffered the breakage of a rear axle of a mid 80s SR rear hub on a 126. I bought but have yet to fit a nos Campag 130 OLD. Is this the correct component?

It will probably do the job one way or another. Japanese axles tended to use slightly different cone diameters and thread dimensions to those used by Italian (as in Campagnolo, Gipiemmie, Miche etc) manufacturers. Swapping axles was often a case of trying combinations of axles and cones until something usable was found. The 4mm extra OLD shouldn't be an issue as you should be able to set the axle so that 2mm is hidden in each drop out - worst case you can take a little off the axle once you're happy with the fit.

Should fit OK, I guess it's not titanium like the original.

Just file it the same length, put a cone down the axle then undo it over the filed end to straighten any threads then remove any burs from the axle.

Rather like threading down a crown race when shortening a steerer and then taking it off over the cut end.
