8 SPEED CAMPAG ERGOSHIFTERS

The New Success shifters were made by Campagnolo, re-branded Chorus. Sachs collaborated with Campagnolo to create the new 8 speed ergo shifter. The shift throw therefore should be the same as Campagnolo, so not sure if Shimano compatible 🤔
I don't want to derail (do you see what i did there) the original thread, but there are different opinions about this.

The argument is that third generation new success rear mechanisms have the same (very close to) pull ratio as Shimano mechanisms, therefore, while the brifters look the same as chorus, internally they are different.

To throw further fuel on the fire, I use both 8 speed chorus and 8 speed new success and the New success I find shifts more crisply and feels better (Confirmation Bias alert)

Read the article, but are are they a different throw? as you have both a full dissection on the operating table 👍🤣

Cancel the operation got a second opinion from Dr Sheldon🚑 There's two versions of the Sachs . Early 5mm same as Campagnolo and the later 4.8mm Shimano...
