My SRT-400 front shifter has multiple graduations between shifts (4 or 5 clicks to execute a chainring shift), whereas my SRT-600 has one graduation over the entire shift (1 click).

Personal taste but... i prefer my 1996 gripshift over my 2013 XT rapidfire.
