< 5 kg lightest MTB for races with components from 90's to 00's

from my brother alejandro, i know frame is an scott.

question is, are this bike complete with components, a less than 5 kg MTB with some classic races done..

My vote is fake. Maybe 8 kg, but even that's really pushing it with 3 rings and a front mech.

If it was weighed with the fishing scale pictured, that would explain it.

I believe its close to legit. Most of those parts are crazy light.
 
The article misses the chapter about him scamming people on Kleins …..

Also misses the part where he uses the shonkiest cheapo scale for measuring parts, or doesn't weigh parts and just uses manufacturer weights. It could be lighter, or heavier, than stated.
 
A friend of mine that raced in the 90s-00s had a tricked-out Seven that he got down to 6.8 kg. He said it could weigh less if he used skinnier tires and some less reliable parts. He'd recon it would weigh around 6kg. Not sure if a carbon frame would shed 1 kg.
