although not the best photograph i couldnt wait to take the picture..

The brakes are now set up, but i have left the cables uncut , will cut down once every thing is dialed in.

Also fitted its proper wheels mavic ma40's/xt , shod with NOS ritchey z max.

What is it with mavic MA40 rims ? they have got to be the hardest rims to fit tyres onto, even worse when taking them off.......

Ive gone for the old 2mm shimano cable ( rope like ) as the straddle wires supplied with the brakes are 2mm.

The only problem using this cable, is the width of the outer , its a tight squeeze when going into the cable adjusters on the brake levers...,
( i might just shave the outer a bit to fit better )

2mm cable looks the dogs ! the standard stuff just looks too wimpy

When I used 6mm outter in some m900 levers I drilled the barrel adjusted a smidgen, I think by only 0.5mm
and it made all the difference in the world

gotta say RED its looking good :D

Re: another yeti project. 1995/6 yeti sherpa

Cheer;s nick..

Im very pleased with how its turning out..

You are right in saying , the cable these days does look wimpy. and using the 2mm rope is the way forward..
There is plenty of meat on the lever adjusters to do what you mentioned, and will sort that when i chop the cables down. ( Also the rear brake cable needs to be shortened at the lever - frame end )

The chain should be here any day soon... exciting times :D
