Seller seems to be of the opinion that the frame is from this millennium! Somewhat scuffed with a bit of Chain Suck/Stuck, but a 1997 Explosif nonetheless.

Probably 19” from the best guess I can give.

A good starting price…. and rather surprisingly cheap shipping at £4.99!

Re:

The gap in between the top and down tubes is a little small for a 19" I'd be willing to say it's an 18" in fairness, that's judging from looking at my konas, an 18, two 19s and a 20" lol

Re:

Are the later ones differing tube thickness then as my 98 caldera is an 18" and the gap is bigger than the one on yours in that pic!

I don't know my friend but here is a pic from an 1995 that I found on ebay. Also with a small gap

The 1997 Explosif is constructed from Columbus Nivacrom Max OR tubing, which has been Bi-ovalised. The Top tube is circa 36mm, and the Down Tube is circa 40mm. With the angle of the Down Tube taken into account, this would leave a gap of 16mm on an 18” frame, which has a 110mm Headtube. The gap would be approximately 36mm on a 19” frame, as it has a 130mm Headtube, which is what we see in the e-Bay frame.

The gap between the Top Tube and the Down Tube on a 1998 Caldera will indeed be wider as the tubing is not Bi-ovalised.

See pictures below for examples of my 1997 18” Explosif bike, and a random 19” 1997 Explosif frame.

Re:

Best framed machine I have. Apart from the Kilauea ;-) From that shot I'd guess it's 18". Mines a 19" if you need to compare.
