MC2 frameset is lighter than MC1....so that should be possible, some light wheels and tires.....

Definitely possible. My old '96 Adroit was 9,4 kg with XT M737 and some Tune parts (post & QRs) + alu bolts but with heavy wheels and 2.35" Klein Deathgrips. So if I had built it with full '96 Tune/XT specs, the weight would easily have been under 9 kg.

Great job with the Ultra Light setup BTW!

Re: 1992 Klein Adroit Backfire

that's the rear one, only need a front hub and 2 rims...

Re: 1992 Klein Adroit Backfire

the silver rear hubs is laced in to a Mavic X517, for the moment, NOS Campagnolo freewheel 12-27 added, Ritchey Z-max WCS 26x1.9 fitted, result....8,84 KG

why not try to make a 2nd UltraLight with al the spare parts.....

without some titanium already on 8,97 KG, these bikes loose weight easier then their owner

Re: 1992 Klein Adroit Backfire

mmmmmm, i think i need an other Hi-E hub

compared to the Ringle which was in before, the freewheel "moved" 4 mm more outwards, not enough space anymore for the chain to do his thing.....

Anyone with a Ultralight who can share a picture of their set up?

Pretty big gap between the freewheel and the spokes/flange

Re: 1992 Klein Adroit Backfire

I told you about this problem... I ran into the same issue on a test fit I did. I added spacers under the drive side axle end cap to move it outboard.

Double check your axle spacing.

Re: 1992 Klein Adroit Backfire

I also sanded down the cogs/spacers on my campy FW to reduce the overall height and then I added 2-3mm of spacing to the hub.

Love the bike and the effort you have gone to!

One question though, does it index properly at the rear when you use brake cable outer? Has the Gripshift got enough movement to adjust?

Maybe have to start sanding ;)

Thanks!

@Jon, it did with my Ringlé hub, but not at the moment....
