Hello all. I was cleaning up the garage today and bumped in to this little beauty. Realised I'd never started a thread for it so as the sun was shining I took a few snaps.

Condition is exactly as I got it from Coleman a year or so ago as I've not riden it further then the end of the road.
As you can see, it's in superb original nick. I lusted after this when it first appeared on the site via the original owner so when I was contacted and asked if I was interested in it the answer was YES!!

I've had a few ideas of parts to change but always stop short as it's so original. Some of the thoughts I've had were to change the saddle to a Flite, change the stem to one with some rise, change the bars to something a bit wider, replace the seatpost to something a little better and finally to change the crank to a mint silver set I've got. All parts replaced would probably end up on my Clockwork so won't go to waste. We'll see.

I've got a 'Tange Prestige' decal ready to go on it but have not got round to it yet.

Re:

Lovely bike in great condition... I only wish my '92 were still in that condition (though I've only myself to blame). The orange / white fade must rate as one of the classic MTB colour schemes, or maybe it's just because that's what I wanted so much as a teenager that I saved months of paper round money to buy one!
As long as you keep the parts then any changes can be put back.

Re:

Cheers chaps, yep, it's a belter. In my dark moments I've thought about moving it on as it deserves to be used more then I do but the condition always stops me as I know I'll never get another so original. Starting to get a bit more time for bikes again so this summer should see both this and the yellow Clockwork sorted.

Re:

Nice steed that, but I always understood that Prestige's didn't have rack mounts, that's how you told them from a Clockwork? All the ones I had certainly didn't have any on frame or forks.

My Prestige has rack mounts, seen loads which do...? unless they phased the mounts out for later years models perhaps.

Easiest way to tell them apart is the rear canti guide/hanger: Prestige have a gap in them, Clockwork ones are solid. Top tubes are usually half an inch or so longer. Also frame weight difference.

Got a 92 Clockwork frame waiting to be built up myself hence the noticeable differences! :D

Re:

My '92 Prestige (Ritchey Logic Super Tubing) has the exact same rack mounts, front and rear. The ovalised seat tube base must be a good indicator of a Prestige?
Edit: my Clocky also has a gap in the rear canti hanger (89) - though it's a bit of a different shape to it maybe.
