Here’s my brothers beast, the bike had very little miles, but I gave it a full nut and bolt tear down and clean. Only missing the correct saddle and orange toe strap.! It’s mad the way it came with a smoke as a front tire!!! My ocd struggles with that

This bike looks incredible! I noticed one of the original photos shows one of the original orange toe straps. Did you switch to Tioga because you preferred black? Do you still happen to have the orange ones? If so, I'm interested in buying them. I'd like to fit cages and straps to mine, and I've been contemplating getting some white straps instead, but the original orange are great!

A few friends have mentioned my front Smoke. I love the look, and have a tanwall Dart in my stock I could install, but I like the way it rides. Very twitchy!

When we got the bike from eBay, it didn’t have the original orange straps or clips. I had some tioga ones for my zaskar build, but ended up going with Shimano spuds instead, so these were donated. I have yet to see any come up in that colour. Screenshot of the catalog clips, they look like zefal ones to me!!! It’s a really fast bike to ride, you notice the high bb!

What’s wrong with a Smoke as front tyre? Smoke was introduced about two years before the Dart and used at both ends. For loose/technical terrain I’d still choose Smoke over Dart at front.

I just have always known them as a traction rear tire only, with the lack of direction for the front in the pattern, in mucky old Ireland it wasn’t a great option!
