Did you look on the inside of the fm band? usually stamped on there

No, it's not - that was the first thing I checked...totally without markings!

I think they came with endless band mechs as standard, hence the confusion!

No, came with a standard Suntour mech on both teh ones I have owned - maybe Suntour simply didn't do this?
