They need to reach the rims or it will look odd.

Don't say I didn't warn you.

Thanks. Any more pearls of wisdom from the depths of your shed, Mr Hist'ry?

Mike

Stepped ferrules.

Re:

I know I've got one. Will need that for the gear cable on the chainstay.

Re:

Got a 52 chainring here yesterday, so will be a 42/52 split. With the 14-24 cassette out the back, I should be ok for gears.

Today I got home to find the spokes had arrived, so I laced up the wheels.

Now settled on a paint scheme, just need to save a bit for it. Car MOT coming up and, cough, a Bianchi on the way too

Quality wheel build, Mike. As age advances, my 13-21 x 42/52 set ups become increasingly more like your 24s - or 31s...

The phenomenom of (then) Malcolm Elliot is very inspirational.

Re:

Thanks,

Normally I go for a 23 bottom gear, with a 39. With a 53 x 11 top gear.

Re:

Tensioned the wheels up a bit today, will do proper truing up when I set the bike up, as I always do. Don't own a truing jig!

Couldn't resist a quick mock up with the Rolls saddle - thanks Clive! - along with Cinelli 64/44 bars and XA stem.

Next job will be to pack the frameset up for it's fresh lick of paint.
