Just been out to the garage, the headtube badge is Indeed plastic. Had I realized this, I wouldn't have driven around with it in my pocket all day! Thankfully not broken.
The back end is 126mm, so maybe not a '90s model. BB shell is 68mm, which I guess is standard, but thought I'd add that too, FYI

Sorry for being so late to this,have you all the info you needed one of my students has the same with original parts and paint in my workshop waiting for me to recable it and not been down for a week to confirm that it's same as your until now,cheers stef

I've got a very similar one I've been working on, with the cable routing like that and single set of bottle mounts. My best guess is either a Raleigh Elan 501 or a later model Criterium Triathlon. I've been getting happy with a blowtorch and some spray cans on mine, will post a full thread when it's finished.

Now confirmed by the owner as an Elan model. Originally red, she repainted it blue. Today I labelled it up and lacquered it.
