1982 Cleland Aventura FOR SALE (again!)

Those are very nice SunTour pedals.
There's a little bit of a story to them.
At the time, 1980/1, they were about the most expensive pedal you could get, costing about £70. The axle is titanium and the bearings are sealed cartridge, very unusual features back then.
It was the time of the first BMX boom and Halfords bought up a load. They were displayed in a glass cabinet.
However, the buyer for Halfords had not done his homework, or something had gone wrong, because these pedals didn't have the BMX 1/2" thread, but the standard 9/16" thread.
As a result, there was no demand for them.
Gradually they were offered at a lower and lower price, eventually being offered at £10, which was when I bought as many as I could find.
So, I do hope you can get them restored.
If not, I have a pair of original Shimano 'DX' pedals, or a pair of original SunTour 'Bear Trap' pedals, that I could send you.
I'll be down west again before long.

For anyone dropping in on this thread she's now in the hands of a new owner (Me!!) and in the early stages of restoration.

Always fancied a Highpath back in the day and didn't know these were the forerunners.

Congrats from a fellow Cleland owner.

Look forward to seeing your progress with this.
