A while ago I shared pictures of my 1977 Zebrakenko Olympic-Ace. The story is that Zebrakenko supplied the Japanese olympic team at some point. Add up that the bike is equipped with Dura-Ace, hence 'Olympic-Ace'. It is a nice Tange Champion tubing frame. I like the candy apple green colour a lot and the chromed fork tops are a nice touch. I do think the full frame is chromed under the paint.

The pictures I shared earlier show the Zebrakenko with later Shimano 600AX stem. Bar tape and lever hoods are missing. That had to be corrected. In the proces I completely rebuild the bike. The stem has been replaced by a SR Extra Super Light stem. In the late 70s it was the nicest SR stem. It has ti bolts and it is hollow. The stem matches well with the SR bar. I fitted new hoods and white/greyish Velox tape and ends. The Shimano brake cables have the same colour as the tape. The headset and bottom bracket bearings received loose grade 20 balls with fresh grease. The old grease lost all its qualities in 40 years.

The result:

Yes, the colour well chosen by the Japanese of Zebrakenko.

Btw the bike is from the same year as I am. It aged better than me.
