Well ive been meaning to do this for awhile and being as 99% of parts have now been gathered & the frame just needs a few coats of lacquer, i thought now would be a good time.

When i was 13 my mothers then boyfriend gifted me his old '91 Orange Prestige.
I absolutely loved this bike you couldnt get me off it, however being so young i failed to really care for it.

and so the project began.

stripped it back to bare metal only to find a crack on one of the stays.

but worse was the one in the seat tube.

Well after a few emails & a trip to Lincoln to see Dave yates it was found to be pretty much terminal, but no one to admit defeat i soldiered on.

Being as this will only be riden a few times getting it properly powder coated would be a bit excessive, so a rattle can jobby it was to be.

As i already have quite a few bits of the Black M560 LX kit i decided to get hold of the few bits i didnt have (cantis & STI lever/shifters)

for this build i'm going for the Black look with hints of Orange to match the decals (thanks Gil_M)

got hold of some Orange Vinyl off EvilBay and made some Decals for my cranks (now painted Black) & Tioga T bone stem.
I'm pretty pleased with how they look.

just waiting now on some new Elastomers & collar for the RC-35s from JustBackDated, and i will be able to get on with building it.

Updates will follow.

I love a good project and this is a good project indeed. Keep us informed and post some pics of the painted frame.

will start to build it after i get my headset sorted out.

filled it with a bit of quick steel epoxy.
being as its not really gonna be a rider anymore it doesnt matter too much.
it looks nice and thats pretty much what im after, the bike holds alot of sentimental value so looking nice is the main thing.

more pics too come when i start to build it, just need to get the headset sorted.
