Old School Hero
Finally got this done a week or so ago. Winter is full on here though so this isn't going to see the road for awhile. Especially considering I now have a full knee replacement scheduled in about a week.

I had been watching this frameset on sale since at least 2018. Finally pulled the trigger, nothing like an impulse buy, LOL!

The full bike, mostly Suntour Superbe with a smattering of Dura Ace mixed in.

3T stem with Soma HWY One bars and modern Tektro levers. I like the clean, hidden cables vs using non-aero Superbe ones.

These Superbe cranks had black chainrings so I swapped on a set of silver Dura Ace ones. Doug Fattic identified the FD Braze on as being an early Dura Ace one that did not play nice with most FDs. So here too the bike got an old Dura Ace EX FD.

RD is Superbe

Chromed caps on the top of the seat stays

The paint is nice for an early/mid 80's bike. Has the old Toyota truck thing going on, LOL!

Seat tube was a bit undersized for a 27.2 seatpost even after I honed it out a bit to clean it up. Found this nice polished Nitto stem that had been machined down in size a bit. Perfect fit and nice match to the stem.

New Campagnolo Record headset with that beautiful 3T stem.

More of the paint, the white has pearl in it and leans towards a cream color.

The gold bolts match up to the gold buttons on the bottle cage.

Krapf is a bike shop in Switzerland that is still in business. I don't know much about them though or the origin of these Krapf bikes.

Some of my favorite DT shifters.

The chrome on the bike has held up very well over the years. Nice bladed forks legs on this one.

Little bit of pantograph on this one.

Another shot of that sweet fork crown.

Orange and white finishing tape to match up to the frame.

Those old Superbe brakes are quite beautiful to me.

One more cosmetic touch.

Beautiful build. Frame is amazing and love the colours/graphics. Bet you it looks absolutely stunning in the flesh.

Love the mix & match of components, great to see Shimano, Suntour and Campagnolo all feature in one build. 👏

Certainly looks like you need to wait a while for the snow to go! At least it was a great backdrop to for the bike and helped show-off the pearlescent white/cream frame! 😎
