The Retrobike RetroRoadRide Series 2013

It seemed like high time to formalise the RetroRoadRides that have been going on over the past few years into a Calendar so here it is.

The photo above is a bit misleading - it's less about hammering along on the rivet in a peloton and much more about a group of like minded people getting together for a sociable ride in great settings. Don't worry, you can keep up!

We've managed to put together a really varied series this year around the UK with both old favourites and new rides. No two will be the same but in general expect 40-50 miles with some sort of cafe/pub/food stop.

So, get out your diaries, here are the dates:

Rd 1: Gospel Pass Ride ~ Saturday 23rd February ~ Organised by ededwards (cross the highest road Pass in Wales) - Details here

Rd 2: Peak District Road Ride ~ Sunday 5th May ~ Organised by drystonepaul - Details here

Rd 3: Brewery Ride - Warwickshire ~ Saturday 8th June ~ Organised by grumpycommuter - Details here

Rd 4: Herefordshire Grimpeurs Special ~ Saturday 6th July ~ Organised by ededwards (same day as mountain top stage finish in the TdF) - Details here

Rd 5: Four Abbeys Road Ride - Scottish Borders ~ Saturday 24th August ~ Organised by velomaniac - Details here

Rd 6: Lake District Passes Ride ~ Saturday 21st September ~ Organised by drystonepaul - Details here

Rd 7: Cotswolds Road Ride ~ Saturday 2nd November ~ Organised by daj - Details here

The series is non-competitive in terms of riding, but special prizes may be awarded for: -

- Riding Retro
- Wearing Retro (RB kit inclusive)
- Bike of The Ride
- Spirit of the Ride
- Bonus for distance travelled
- Photography
- Bodging skills

Helmets must be worn on Retrobike rides. No helmet - no ride.

Look out for ride announcements and please keep checking our calendar for more details.

Details of the Retrobike National MTB Event Series series can be found here.
